5. [Info] Malaysian Overseas Postal Votes

The Election Commission of Malaysia has recently released a guide on how to register yourself for postal votes. If you plan to vote in the upcoming Malaysian election, the following link should be of immense interest to you:

6. [CUSEAF] RPK: "For God, King, and Racism"

The Cambridge University South East Asia Forum is proud to host RPK: "For God, King, and Racism".

Religion, Race and Royalty are the ‘three Rs’ of Malaysian politics. Both sides of the political divide have played up the issue of race, religion and royalty to the hilt for more than 55 years since independence or Merdeka.

The March 8 general elections was hailed as a watershed. Fast forward 5 years, and we are once again anticipating another general election. How has Malaysia changed, if at all? Raja Petra Kamarudin will speak on the upcoming general election expected over the next two months or so, and on whether Malaysians are finally beginning to shift away from race and religion to focus on other substantive issues.

Raja Petra is a Malaysian blogger known for his controversially no-holds-barred attitude in speaking truth to power. He is the chief editor of Malaysia Today, a Malaysian blog for political news and commentaries.

Date: 30 January 2013 (Wednesday)
Time: 5.30pm
Venue: Mill Lane Lecture Room 4
FB event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/120939208080053/

We look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an exciting discussion.
