Introduction
Cambridge University Malaysia Society is proud to present its largest annual event: Malaysia Night 2010.

Set in modern day Malaysia, The Chalkboard Wars is a coming-of-age drama which examines friendship, romance and family values in the light of intense academic pressures. A simple story of a few friends sitting for the nerve-wracking SPM examinations that evolves into an epic of melancholy, The Chalkboard Wars is a cocktail of puberal wonders involving your typical teenagers that doesn’t turn out quite the way one expects.

The Chalkboard Wars promises to entertain with its complex characters and parodies of the perils of unfinished homework, teenage ostentation, the competitive psyche, the predicaments of puberty and of course, the social hierarchy which dictates the laws of high school. But as tradition has it, a CUMaS production will not be complete without perspective – look deeper into the play and unveil the more pensive elements of school life that all of us would have seen happening or experienced personally.

Contemporary, relatable and realistic, the CUMaS Malaysia Night 2010 is guaranteed to impress with the superficialities of secondary school life that we have long grown out of – or have we?
