Time: 7.30pm (but gather at 7.10pm to ensure we can all sit together)
Price: CUMaS: £7, CUMSA: £9, non-members £11.25
Dress code: Smart casual (ie gown is not compulsory for guests)

6. Warwick Malaysia Night 2012

On behalf of the Warwick Malaysian Students Association Committee 2011/2012, I would like to cordially invite you to Warwick Malaysia Night 2012: ‘Echo‘.

Every year, Warwick MSA throws Malaysia Night, a theatrical extravaganza which endeavours to display the rich, diverse culture of Malaysia through a night of music, art, excitement, drama, comedy and dance. Held in the prominent Warwick Arts Centre, the largest arts centre in the Midlands, Warwick Malaysia Night has throughout the past several years acquired an illustrious reputation across the UK for being one of the best Malaysia Nights and having the best Dikir Barat performance in the country.

Malaysia Night 2011, which was held in February entertained 1000 guests from all over the UK, including the National Malaya & Borneo Veterans Associations (NMBVA), represented by the regimental associations from Grantham and Leicester. Warwick Malaysia Night 2011 was subsequently awarded the Best Social Event of the Year Award by the Warwick Students Union. 

Malaysia Night 2012 promises to be even more riveting, as we have an outstanding performance lined up, put together by over 100 dedicated MSA members. The play, titled “Echo” is set in the Malayan Emergency period and revolves around the theme of self-discovery and reflection. It is with great honour that we invite you and your members to our grand production to experience the plethora of cultural elements and dazzling performances we have in store for you. Come for an unforgettable night incorporating various student-choreographed cultural dances and culminating with our exceptional Dikir Barat performance, as we take you back to Malaysia to a time where life was different.

7. Manchester Intellectual Debate Championship 2012

The Malaysian Students’ Society of Manchester (MSSM) and the Malaysian Community of Old Trafford (MCOT) would like to invite you to the Manchester Intellectual Debate Championship 2012 (otherwise known as “Kejohanan Debat Intelektual Manchester”).

For the first time, MCOT is collaborating with MSSM to bring you a Malaysian debate championship. This event will be held in Manchester and welcomes all Malaysian debaters from the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland.

Other than providing a platform for participants to discuss current issues in a healthy and intellectual manner, this championship will create social networking opportunities to not only forge closer ties between its participants but also all attendees. Join us on 18 February 2012, Saturday at the University of Manchester. Registration is now open to all Malaysians in the UK and Ireland.
