CUMaSKini Header

30 October 2012

Hello everyone! Hopefully week 4 hasn’t been too hard on you! This week we’re looking at sports: we’ve confirmed transportation to the Nottingham Games, and we’re still looking for more people to join in the events! This weekend there’s a “friendly” competition between us and CUMSA, as well as the iCUSU World Food Festival. And finally, we’re looking for certain cooking utensils, read on below and please help us if you do have the items!

1. Nottingham Games Update

If you haven’t signed up for the Nottingham Games yet, why not? We’re still looking for players for a few more sports, so check the posts on in the CUMaS Sports Group on FB to see which sports are free and to sign-up: https://www.facebook.com/groups/136064103186444/

We’d also like to inform all participants that we will be travelling by coach to Nottingham. CUMaS is heavily subsidising the transportation, so it will only cost £5 for players and £10 for supporters. If you’re not planning to play any sports, why not follow us down to Nottingham to support us and eat the Malaysian food?

2. CUMaS-CUMSA Friendly Match

Hello all, CUMSA has challenged us to a friendly match (annual CUMAS-CUMSA event) on 4th Nov (this Sunday) for football, frisbee, badminton, touch rugby and captain’s ball. Details and the sign-up form can be found in the link below. You make take this as a practice before Notts Games.

3. The Great Utensil Search

With the iCUSU World Food Festival coming up, as well as the Malaysian Food Feast, out team of volunteers are hard at work preparing delicious dishes. Unfortunately we are being hampered by a lack of utensils, so we are searching for any large pots, induction cookers, ferromagnetic pots (this is particularly important), or serving trays. Please e-mail welfare@cumas.org if you have any of these items and don’t mind lending it to us for a short while. Thanks!

4. iCUSU World Food Festival

CUMaS will have a stall at the WFF!

iCUSU is holding our FIRST EVER World Food Festival (WFF) on Saturday, 3 Nov 2012!! Doors open at 18:30.

It will be a bazaar-style event where all Cambridge international societies prepare their local cuisine for everyone to enjoy!
